I can't recall where I got this information from, but in adding

+fullscreen 1 +menu 1 +restart 1 -heapsize1024000 -dxlevel9c

to your command line whether in the main BF2 game or even adding it to the XFire command line, it bypasses the intro movies to log in and runs better.

the heapsize, replace with your total amount of ram available
-heapsize512000  for 512k of RAM
-heapsize2048000 systems with 2gig of ram.

The Dxlevel0c command supposidely tell BF2 to force use of Direct9XC

No computer guru here, but in doing so, my game ran better and bypassed the intro screens.  Hope this adds to your playing pleasure.
